"To see the change, you must be the change"
At PowerBrixx, we realize that the responsibility for saving what's left for future generations lies upon our shoulders. We cannot wait for someone else to do something. We cannot continue to wait for our government to enact measures that would ensure the protection and preservation of our environment and our resources. This is an issue that goes way beyond any country's government and actually involves every living being on earth. The change has to begin in each of our homes and each of our businesses, with all of us actively participating.
The owner and employees of PowerBrixx make every effort to maximize our reuse of materials and our use of recycled materials. This includes reusing or recycling all cardboard boxes, using biodegradable packaging material, using 100% recycled copy paper, recycling used office paper along with cans and bottles, setting thermostat temperatures at responsible levels and maximizing the energy efficiency of our warehouse and office. The owner drives an energy efficient hybrid vehicle. Laptop batteries and compact fluorescent tubes are collected and taken to recycling centers (see link below) and we make every effort to resell all laptop components, even if reselling them only pays for the shipping cost. We assure you that these various measures do cost us, both in time and additional expense, but it is a price that we feel we are responsible for paying. We cannot continue to hope that someone else will make a difference of such a magnitude that it would also counteract inaction on our part.
Dell, Inc. has recently entered into an agreement through www.carbonfund.org whereby Dell provides it's customers with the opportunity to offset the carbon footprint of their purchase. CarbonFund.org will work with individuals and businesses throughout the country that wish to offset the carbon emissions generated as a result of their daily activity, manufacturing processes, utilities usage, or transportation.
We really, really hope you are also actively participating in these efforts. If you are not currently recycling and/or reducing your energy and carbon emissions, realize that any step you take, no matter how small, is a beginning and is better than no action at all!
